Combine this with companion planting and the benefits for both humans and plants will compound. What a refreshing approach to gardening! He looks back at various cultures and how they planted (ex: three sister planting), and how we can apply this modern day. I also like the way he combines flowers and vegetables, showing the benefits to each. Shepperd even lists and describes beneficial bugs for the garden. I want to be able to mark up and have the info at my fingertips. Something was wrong as I was skimming the pages and when I stopped, I realized all the images were in b&w. Couldn’t wait for the launch of his new book, I had previously read the Introduction to Raised bed gardening after becoming green fingered over the previous lockdown! Peter’s books are always a smooth read and are so clear and concise I can easily say that these are the best gardening books you will find. The cover is really beautiful and pleasing to the eyes too and there are plenty of colourful images to help you learn about the companion gardening method. I have been struggling a little bit with the usual annoying garden pests so I can’t wait to try some of the techniques in the book to save my fruit and vegetables ! 5 stars for Peter ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 7, 2021 )
